The following items are inspected by Neil Scott, licensed home inspector,
Connecticut license #HOI.314.
Exterior of the Property
- The grading of the land surrounding the home
- The foundation walls and exterior siding
- Roofing of the home
- Gutters, chimneys, and flashing
- Windows and skylights
- The conditions of the driveways and walkways
- Decks, patios, and porches
- Garages and carports
- Retaining walls
- Proximity of vegetation to the home
Interior of the Property
- The conditions of the ceilings, walls, floors, and doors
- Windows on the interior of the home
- Fireplace (s)
- Basements (finished and unfinished) and accessible crawl spaces
- Accessible attic areas
- Heating systems
- Cooling systems
- Plumbing (supply pipes and waste lines) systems
- Water heaters
- Major appliances
- Carbon monoxide testing where applicable
- Environmental issues or suspect substances/materials will be noted in
our report, i.e., asbestos, mold-like
substances, etc.
Our home inspection prices are based on the square footage of the home.
Digital photographs may be taken during an inspection when necessary for
clarification purposes.
Radon in air testing can be done for an additional fee and includes use of a
local laboratory for quick processing results.
Various water testing is available at additional fees for both private and
public water supplies (well water or city water).
Separate wood destroying insect (pest) inspection, which is performed by a
licensed exterminator, is arranged by our office for an additional fee.
Above ground ultra sound oil tank testing is available
upon request for an additional fee.
There are additional charges for homes with a second or multiple kitchens or
each additional unit of a multiple family home.
